Hydrosols

A hydrosol, also known as floral water, distillate water, or herbal water, is a byproduct of the steam distillation process used to extract essential oils from plants. During the distillation process, steam passes through plant material, capturing the plant's essential oils and other volatile components. The steam then condenses back into water, separating the essential oil from the water-based portion. This water-based portion is the hydrosol, which contains microdroplets of essential oil along with water-soluble compounds from the plant.
Hydrosols have similar properties to their corresponding essential oils but are much safer and less concentrated. They are gentle and can be used directly on the skin without dilution, making them popular for use in skincare, aromatherapy, and as natural fragrances or flavorings
